Sanaa set to become fourth Arab capital under Tehran’s control: Iranian MP #Iran, 22-09-2014: Iranian MP Alireza Zakani (pictured), a close aide to the Ayatollah Khamenei, said earlier today that “Three Arab capitals have today become part of Iran and of the Iranian Islamic revolution,” a reference to Baghdad, Damascus and Beirut, adding that the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, is set to become the fourth regional capital under Iranian leadership. Addressing fellow parliamentarians in the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran (the Iranian parliament), Zaani said that Iran is now fighting “the greater Jihad,” noting that the current period of history requires a special policy and defensive strategy given the possible consequences of this expansionism. The prominent MP said that officials in the Iranian leadership have identified all the key global and regional players and influential states, stressing the need to support this stage of the Iranian revolution in order to “correct injustice and help the vulnerable people in the Middle East” [editor’s note: primarily by bombing and subjugating them]. Before the regional victory of the Islamic revolution, he continued, there were two leading factions in the region which posed a danger to Iranian supremacy, “namely Sunni Islam, and secularism in Turkey.” However, he continued, “the triumph of the Iranian revolution has changed the regional political equation in Iran’s favour; today we are at the peak of imposing our will and our strategy on everyone in the region.” Zakani asserted that the Middle East is now a bipolar region, divided between the US [which Iran is working closely with] and its allies on one hand and those engaged in the project of the Iranian revolution on the other. The MP acknowledged the intervention of the Iranian ‘Al Quds Force’ in Iraq, claiming, “General Qassem Suleimani’s intervention in Iraq has prevented Baghdad from falling to Da’esh [the ISIS], as in Syria,” and adding, “If we had been too late in making our decisions about the Syrian crisis and had not intervened militarily, the Syrian government would have fallen at the start of the uprising.” Zakani said that official delegations from the Iranian parliament had visited Bashar al Assad in Damascus earlier this year to congratulate him on winning the staged presidential election, adding that Assad had told the delegates that “The real congratulations should be submitted to the Iranian leader Ali Khamenei, not to me, since he should be first to be credited with my success in this election.” The prominent Iranian MP further stated that the Yemeni revolution is a natural extension of the Iranian revolution, adding that the 14 provinces of Yemen controlled by the Houthi peoples wil soon extend to 20, spreading to enter Saudi Arabia. “The Yemeni revolution is certainly not Yemeni alone and will be extended after its success across the Saudi-Yemeni border and into the Saudi territories, and will rapidly accelerate, reaching deep inside Saudi Arabia.” From: Radio Sawt Beirut International
