Sanath’s arrack leaves media box inebriated! Many journalists who had attended the dinner plus liquor party hosted by posts deputy minister and chief cricket selector Sanath jayasuriya at his Q-Bar on last 22 had not covered the Sri Lanka-Pakistan game on the 24th, reports say. As a result, the media box at the Suriyawewa stadium had looked a deserted one. The food ordered for the journalists had to be thrown away, reports say. The most significant thing is that the journalists of Lankadeepa and The Island, who acted as if they owned the place, too, were notable absentees. Most of the around 30 journalists invited by Sanath for the dinner had attended it. But, two senior journalists had avoided it, according to reports. Sanath has also invited president’s son Namal Rajapaksa too, for the party, and some heavily inebriated journalists had taken pictures of them with their hands over Namal’s shoulder.
