Sandali, Saglit, Hintay,Teka Muna!!! Says the Lord of Host. Psalms 46:10 Be still, and know that I am God! I will be praised among the nations, I will be praised in the earth. Since Lazarus was a good friend of Jesus, Im sure they were expecting that Jesus would come immediately to his aid. The scripture says, however, that Jesus stayed two more days in the place where He was. It was in those two days that Lazarus died. Waiting can be painful. You might get discouraged, wondering if God will answer your prayers. Or, you could become angry when you see Him blessing others with the very thing you’d like to have. How can you, as a believer, thrive in the midst of a painful season of waiting? Confess any frustration, anger, discouragement, or bitterness. If you refuse to express your genuine feelings to Him, you won’t experience the full measure of His comfort. When I wanted to be a Pastor I didn’t understand why God wanted me to work in a Drug manufacturing Company as a Medical Representative. But, a years later, I realized the Lord had trained me on how to deal with people, even difficult to dealt with. While you wait, God works behind the scenes on your behalf. Give Him time to arrange every detail so you will receive His best (Ps. 84:11-12). Serve the Him while waiting. Maybe God’s not calling you to serve as a full-time missionary. But you can still look for ways to reach out to others. Compliment a co-worker’s performance, bring a dessert to a neighbor, give a thoughtful present, or offer to pray for someone’s need. Don’t wait for God to fulfill your desire before you serve Him. Prepare yourself for God’s answer. Do you want to be married, but haven’t met Mr. or Miss Right yet? Read books on dating and marriage, and learn to work through conflict with close friends and family. Do you want to have a baby, but your spouse isn’t ready? Talk to those with children and ask about their parenting secrets. Or, read books on pregnancy and child-rearing. Do you want to earn a raise or promotion? Invest in further education and work diligently in your current position. By preparing yourself, you accomplish two things: you demonstrate faith that God will fulfill your desire, and you prepare for success once your dream comes true. While waiting look for ways to enjoy life. Another way to enjoy where you are is to celebrate the joys of others. It’s tempting to put life on hold until God meets our hearts’ desires. But Christ’s presence is all we need to have abundant life (John 10:10). While waiting find contentment in the Lord. We often think like this: Life will be so much better when the kids have grown up, or when we get out of debt or when I’m on the mission field. However, if you’ve lived long enough, you know that once your dream comes true, it will have its own challenges. The Apostle Paul discovered a more solid base for contentment. In Philippians 4:11-12, he wrote: I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need. Its so hard to understand why it is that God waits to do the things we ask of Him. Its good for us to remember, though, that He has His purposes for waiting. God was about to teach everyone involved a much deeper lesson here. As Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, He made sure they all understood that He is the resurrection and the life for all who believe. God has His perfect timing for everything under heaven. You may be waiting for God to intervene in some area of your life. You may have been begging and pleading with God for years on that particular thing. But we can relax and know that Gods timing is perfect. We never know what God is doing behind the scenes, in order that our joy would be made full. Remember that He knows best what would bless us most and He is working all things for those of us who love Him and are called according to His purposes. Relax. God is in control. He has greater things for you than what you could ask or think!
