Sandbach Neighbourhood Plan Right, my plan would contain things - TopicsExpress

Sandbach Neighbourhood Plan Right, my plan would contain things to make Sandbach unique and attractive. Also business and leisure ideas that could actually work, including appropriate locations and infrastructure projects to support them. Firstly, I think we should support the overall concept of the Cheshire East local plan, including those sites determined for housing development. That way, when the plan comes into effect, the Neighbourhood Plan can be used to compliment and enhance it. I will keep this relatively brief, otherwise it could be the longest post in Facebook history. The following are not in priority order, that can be discussed later. As follows: 1. Bridge for salt line crossing on the A534 wheelock. This is way too dangerous and I dont know why there wasnt one in the first place. 2. Sandbach Transport Museum, could contain many fodens vehicles, perhaps situated on a brownfield site. Free to enter, staffed by volunteers, open weekends and bank holidays at first. Contains history of fodens, transport festival etc... Transport cafe could be built in a theme style to generate income. Other vehicles that we see in the festival could also be stored here for the public to view. 3. Sandbach Indoor/outdoor go karting centre. This could be on the same site as the above, expanding upon the transport theme. This would also generate income and is something that is not available in the immediate local area. 4. Sandbach wildlife corridor and park. Contains a tree planting initiative and several conservation ideas to protect out wildlife, including bat habitats, owl boxes, bird boxes etc... Contributions from locals and could get the involvement of national wildlife organisations. Ideal to expand upon brook wood. Ideal to be on the other side of Old Mill road (currently willis and houndings land farm) . 5. Two screen cinema. Ideally a central location, but an alternative could be adjacent to Capricorn Park, instead of some of the housing. Make it unique though, perhaps independent rather than chain. Maybe a small theatre building could be attached for live performances on stage. 6. Protection of our current greenfield spaces as identified by CEC local plan. Includes the applications currently under appeal for Muller at Old Mill and HIMOR application off crewe road. 7. Shuttle service from Sandbach railway station to the town centre, then to Capricorn Park. I dont know now realistic a free shuttle would be to run or finance. A timetable that works and is sensible would have to be considered. 8. Installation of electronic signals (for departures and arrivals) at Sandbach railway station. 9. Sandbach mini and crazy golf. Not sure if this would be suited towards Malkins bank, as the roads arent the best. Alternatively this could be located next the museum and go karting area. 10. Sandbach marina. This is mentioned in the local plan. Not sure on the scope of this but understand it would be situated towards wheelock. I would like these to be considered. I think these appeal to a variety of interests and age groups in the town. Most of the above is entertainment and attractions, but i believe this is what Sandbach lacks, as well as independent shops that are successful. Food establishments seem to be doing ok. Bars are a bit mixed in terms of their success but theres plenty of choice. Additional space may need to be considered for all of the above, as well as infrastructure enhancements. Oh, and not to mention investors for some of it to work. Ideas welcome on that one folks!!!
