Sandy, Evan, Josh, my mother and I had the incredible honor of having Friday night Shabbat dinner at the residence of the United States Ambassaor to the Czech Republic, Norman Eisen, a law school classmate of Sandy. The building is truly one of the most remarkable private residences imaginable and was occupied by the Nazi High Command in charge of the German occupation of Czechoslavakia during World War II. To say the Jewish blessings over wine and Challah and to sing Zmirot in a dining room where Nazi commanders once dined, was something I will never forget.
