Sang this at church this morning and was humbled (and yes, I actually sang instead of mouthing or standing there with a dumb look on my face which I admittedly do all the time). I took this song in two ways - 1) There has never been a time where Ive sacrificed as I ought to (to Him I give my life, not just the parts I want) - to this truth - that His thoughts are higher, His words are deeper, and His love is stronger and that the best thing for me to do in this life is to succumb to His will with rejoicing and to give up all these idols that I so strongly cling on to and sacrifice so much to worship. And 2) Even when I fail and fall flat on my face, His thoughts are higher than mine. His words are deeper. And His love is stronger.
