#SangheiliFact Did you know that the Type 52 Special Applications Rifle, or Focus Rifle, uses the same technology as the Energy Projectors (often mistakenly called Ventral Beams) used in Covenant capital ships to glass planets? Originally designed as a sniper rifle by Sangheili Weapon Masters and engineers in High Charitys Assembly Forges, it was later used more like a support weapon, after the Type 50 Sniper Rifle (Particle Beam sniper rifle) was developed, being easier to fire and to maintain, and also because other Covenant races preferred the new model to the other. Although the power of the Type 52 rifle is 1/1000th of the power of the Energy Projector, it still has enough power to penetrate a fully shielded Mjolnir armor in less than 2 seconds. The technology used in this rifle is so complex that more than 5 years after the human managed to recover some of this rifles on Reach, they still havent figured how to understand the mechanism or reverse-engineer it for their own use. This was also one of the reasons that made the rifle be so scarce, usually non-Sangheili Covenant members were unable to maintain the rifle properly and left them after using them a few times. Surprisingly, this rifles (or extremely similar models) have been seen again, this time in the hands of the Covenant Remnant.
