Sanitation and Bio remediation of waste water for income generation at village Garhi Afghana, Taxila has been constructed by Fazilia Trust Pakistan with the collabaration of Grass Root Initiative Programme (United Nation) and with the technical expertise of Nano Bio Solution Incorporation. Used water of 300 house holds (2000 people) approx. 50,000 gallons per day is being reclaimed through natural methods for agricultural purposes. This facility is benefiting 100 farmers of the area and irrigating 400 acres of land. It is a low cost biological solution called Bio-remediation Technique which does not require machinery or external energy for its operation but uses certain plants and naturally occurring microorganisms to do the job in constructed wetlands. Fazilia Trust Pakistan was ranked first in introducing/adopting Bio-remediation technique in private sector and completed the project with Accreditation awarded by the Donor i.e. UN GRIP.
