Sanitizing of religious preaching in Kano State and Nigeria at large a long overdue course. Its only in our own hemisphere and some few Asian countries you dont see a functional council of Ulama (Scholars). All we see are clusters of fatwa issuing Sheikhs whose motives are primarily to promote their sectional creed and principles and on the other hand we have the fame pursuing clerics. Apart from these we have worst kind of which they are the money in the bag scholars whose fatwas are based upon the cash given to them. These kind of scholars have always confused their student with anecdote instead of factual and detail facts on a particular subject matter. They are always on rampage in other to gain audience. I pray that competent scholars are given the task to chair this movement. My call upon other scholars and haters of this move is for them to suggest ways of making the movement a viable and truly functional one and stop politicizing the development with unruly and calloused statements. With the introduction of this system every scholar would be subject to be screened and given license to preach if successful. Scholars can be called to rectify in places where their fatwa contradicts the general concession and so on. The system as practiced in many countries such as Qatar, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Sudan and many other countries brings about religious tolerance, knowledge, discipline and peaceful coexistence. Finally, i would congratulate the pioneers of this idea in the State as this leads to what we have been yearning for Unity Of The Ummah and also pray they emerge successful in their quest no matter the obstacles.
