Sanskrit Week Celebration at Shiv Ashish School (7th to 14th August,2014) A week long celebration of the ancient language was carried out by the Sanskrit department by involving students actively in learning selected verses from our scriptures . Various activities were conducted right from the morning assembly to the Antakshari( Bhagawat Gita) at inter-class level, all in Sanskrit. The morning assembly on 11th August was conducted by the middle school students who rendered the invocation and gave a valuable thought in Sanskrit. The news headlines and the pledge were also read out in Sanskrit. The students enlightened the audience with the significance of celebrating the Sanskrit week . A group of students rendered selected verses from our holy scriptures and translated the meaning of the shlokas in English. During the Sanskrit week students were assigned project work on chosen topics like the Bhagawat Gita and the epics, Ramayana and Mahabharatha. This brought out the richness and importance of the language and emphasised the need to preserve it for posterity.
