Santa Cruz County wants to Settle the Case. My Co-Plaintiffs and I - TopicsExpress

Santa Cruz County wants to Settle the Case. My Co-Plaintiffs and I want real verified elections and the county to follow State law. Yes, Voting is a secret process; counting and the handling of ballots is a public process by law in Arizona and Santa Cruz does not want to follow that law. We offered to drop item 10 from our records request if they would follow the law under ARS16-621 - Proceedings at the counting center, crazy as it sounds they said No! Were back in court on the 15th. We may have to amend our case and add a Mandamus action which is designed to be fast-track process for cases where the issues are relatively obvious. Like demanding that the county follow the obvious law ARS 16-621 Santa Cruz must have elections that are Transparent, with a documented Chain of custody and then Verify the Election. They didn’t even get close to that in their offer. They want business as usual. Fact: Elections without public accountability are nothing more than vote-counting in the dark, controlled by a county government in the act of choosing itself and its friends. The government can never be the sole verifier of its own secret elections. Again, my co-plaintiffs, Cesar C. Parada, J Henry Olguin, Jack Scholnick, Robert Rojas, Ruth Anne Matheson, Sergio Arellano-Oros, Olga Valdez and I, a mixture of Democrats, Republicans, and 1 independent stand by our mission statement: To restore public ownership and oversight of elections as per the Arizona constitution. We work to protect the “purity of elections” “run by the people” ensure the fundamental right of every American citizen to vote, and to have each vote counted as intended in a secure, transparent, impartial, and independently audited election process.
