Santa Cruz RS model is patterned after the vintage 1927 Gibson Roy - TopicsExpress

Santa Cruz RS model is patterned after the vintage 1927 Gibson Roy Smeck Stage Deluxe model guitar, which was actually built with a square neck for Hawaiian style playing. As the interest in Hawaiian music waned, players reshaped the neck for standard playing and it was discovered that, with this modification, the Roy Smeck model became a superlative 12 fret guitar, albeit one with a wide 1&13/16 nut width. With the wider nut and beefy neck it is not everyones ideal, but it is without question an outstanding guitar. Made of solid sitka spruce and mahogany with ebony bridge and fingerboard. This 2007 model has some -play wear and buckle rash, but no structural issues and it plays perfectly with nice low action. One little extra is the Brazilian rosewood headstock overlay and the original SCGC logo inlaid in mother of pearl. LR Baggs Anthem piskup system professionally installed. Comes in a premium Ameritage case. $2,800.00
