Santa was in the garden center at Wal-Mart today. I was zooming through looking for a garland that resembled gumdrops. Oog was wearing Spiderman pajamas with no underwear because: Wal-Mart. I have never seen Oog blush. He stopped in his tracks when he saw Santa and ducked behind me. I have never forced the kids in to pictures with Santa so, no big deal. Santa asked what he wanted for Christmas, if he had been good. Oog had two perfectly pink circles on his cheeks! He looked as though he had been beautifully airbrushed. Santa asked, Would you like to get a picture with me? Very clearly and politely, No, no fank you. More blushing, cringing even. Santa offered a candy cane. No fank you. Im not hungry. I wished Santa a Merry Christmas and hurried away, puzzled over Oogs distress and embarrassment. We got out of sight of Santa and I hugged Oogs shoulders, assured him that I would never make him sit on Santas lap, and asked, Is everything ok? You seem a little upset. Quietly through clenched teeth, eyes rolling wildly he said, Mommm! Im not wearing ANY UNDERWEAR! Because if he knows if you are sleeping or awake and if you are good or bad, he knows when you are going commando, for goodness sake! ~myMom
