Santee resident Van Collinsworth spoke before the council, championing Mountain View Park, for its view of the Laguna Mountains one way and Cowles Mountain and Mission Trails Regional Park the other way. The parks plans as summarized by Community Services Director Bill Maertz, included a 1.75-mile loop trail that would hook up with the planned San Diego River Trail, landscaped areas, a playground for children and a dog run.
