Meanwhile, Kano State government has called on the federal government to instruct the Department of State Security (DSS), to release Emir Sanusi’s travelling passports they seized at Murtala Muhammad International Airport, Lagos and another at Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano, when he was on his way to France. The government argued that Sanusi reserves the right to continue to carry out his job as religious and traditional leader, hence he needs his passports to travel to countries. Both Sanusi’s diplomatic travelling passports and his local passport are in the custody of DSS.
