Saradha official claims Sudipta Sen met Mukul Roy before going missing More skeletons tumble out of the closet in the multi-crore Saradha scam with one of the directors of the group, Arvind Singh Chauhan, claiming that Trinamool Congress MP and former railway minister Mukul Roy met Sudipta Sen, the kingpin of the scam, before the latter went missing in April 2013. Chauhan, after his release on bail on Tuesday, also said that another Trinamool Congress MP Suvendu Adhikary met Sen at Saradhas Midland Park office in Kolkata. He was arrested along with Sen and Debjani Mukherjee after the Saradha scam was busted. Earlier this month, suspended Trinamool Congress MP Kunal Ghosh, who is in CBIs custody for his role in the scam, demanded that he should be jointly interrogated with Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Sen. In a video testimonial shot prior to his arrest in November last year, the suspended MP claimed that Mamata met Sen at Kalimpong in March 2012 on the sidelines of an official tour to Darjeeling district. Ghosh has repeatedly alleged that the entire Trinamool Congress top leadership was aware of the Saradha Groups nefarious activities and that they cannot absolve themselves of the blame. The Saradha scam relates to an investment scheme run by the Saradha Group, a consortium of over 200 private companies in West Bengal. The group collapsed last year, causing a loss of thousands of crores to over 17 lakh investors. [India Today]
