Sarah Marcus -- one of the fiercest advocates Ive ever known and a feminist and human I admire very, very much -- wrote an incredibly powerful, brave, and important essay thats up today at the wonderful Luna Luna Magazine. Dont ever stop lifting up your voice, Sarah. We are all better for it. I want to say that I see my rapist’s new, older face now every time I close my eyes, but I don’t. My then-boyfriend says that dreams don’t really work like that. He says we don’t necessarily dream about the things we’re thinking about before we fall asleep. I say that this isn’t my first rodeo. I want to say, that I know my body. And I know that the dreams will come, and this isn’t some sick self-fulfilling prophecy, it’s just a fact.
