I have played rugby league since I was 5 years old, represented the North Qld Marlins at age 17 in the state league competition, played for Queensland U18 & U19. I played with the Sydney Roosters for 3 years, was selected in the one and only Queensland State of Origin Selection Trial at Lang Park for the NSW Based Maroons in 1987, played for Queensland Residents and toured South Africa with the side in 1994, was an inaugural Cowboys player in 1995 (had to retire with a serious knee injury), I worked for the Cowboys for 6 years and left as the Sales Manager to take up a role with another sporting code, I wrote the submission and put together the sponsorship, structure etc. for the Northern Pride when it entered the QLD Cup competition. I have worked at all levels of Rugby League as a volunteer, President of my club, referee, committee member and have worked in sales and marketing in sports and rugby league for over 25 years. Both my brothers also played NRL with the Raiders, Canterbury, South Sydney, Cowboys and Super League in the UK. I have worked for nearly 3 years to get the PNG Hunters into the QLD Cup competition despite everyone saying it couldnt be done and overcoming significant hurdles. I think I have earned the right to as you say spearhead the team. Brad Tassell.
