Sarahs vision update :: Our heads are spinning from the events of the past week. Sarah will get her vision back. Praise God! Anywhere from one to six months. Her flexibility to focus is the problem. The muscles that help us focus from up close to a distance are unable to work. They are connected to the pupil, and since the pupils havent completely recovered, they are prohibiting the muscle that controls her flexibility to focus. In both eyes. They still cant pinpoint what caused her AACA, but now feel it had to involve her immune system reacting to something, possibly as small as a spider bite, and it manifested in her vision. They are even checking for lyme disease. This is VERY rare. Her surgeon said they have another similar case in Lubbock, TX. We know it started at least way back in Apr/May when she complained about her vision loss. She told me she felt like she needed bifocals. I laughed it off. So now, she HAS BEEN fitted for bifocals. We are so relieved she will be able to see correctly!!! Its been very stressful and emotional. Thanks for the prayers and kind words. We still need them. St. Lucy, pray for us! Oh! And she is color blind! That is REALLY rare! She is definitely a unique specimen :)
