Sarcosuchus and Deinosuchus: animals that dinosaurs feared. The first one is Sarcosuchus, a crocodile from 90 million plus years ago that evolved during the Jurassic. He would have been around 37 ft and have a long snout. He lived in Africa when the desert was swamp land. The second, Deinosuchus, is an alligator that evolved a little later in North America during the early to mid Cretaceous. He lived until about 70 million years ago just prior to T-rex entering the scene. That photo shows him fighting an Albertosaurus, not a T-rex. He was a few ft less in length-around 33 ft, with a more modern crocodile look. They both hunted dinosaurs and would have likely been the most powerful predators in the rivers and lakes. The largest crocodiles today are saltwater and have been measured at their absolute largest to be 22 inches, even gargantuan ones rarely reaching 20.
