Sardar Patel: Father of United India ----------------------------------- MK Gandhi and Sardar Patel, both were from same Gujarat. The former divided this country in three parts- West Pakistan, India and East Pakistan & the later united the country and made a larger India. It is Sardar Patel who merged around 550 princely states including Hyderabad and Junagadh with India and formed an integrated and united India. He is the Architect of Modern India. But, Gandhi ! Is he father of our nation or Pakistan? Gandhi divided India and created Pakistan. Then, how can we call him father of India??? Nobody can be called father of this nation- Bharat. The nation has not been created after 1947. Just the country became independent from the foreign rulers. Our history is the greatest in this world. Our civilisation is the oldest one and still exists. Our history is not lack of great Sadhus, Sanths, Veer Yoddhas and Raajas. This land is called the land of Gods. We salute our nation as Bharat Mata. There were many freedom fighters. Many heroes have sacrificed their life and become martyrs. I dont want to mention any name, because no one is less than anyone. Then, how can Gandhi be called father of our nation who actually divided that great nation? He better should be called as father of Pakistan. I can accept Sardar Patel as the father of modern India, but can never accept Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi- the Mahatma who sold out his atma to Jinnah.
