Sarina Ivy Simpson chicken and dumplings 3 lbs of chicken ****preferred her is boneless there is fuss with it 3 tablespoons of oil **** canola its better for you 2 cups of flour 1/2 cup of flour ***** you will see in down further of why. 1 larger 32 oz chicken broth large pot boil chicken til tender in **** half water and half broth use full container of broth refill it with water 50/50 split pour all in pot remove chicken put in freezer for 15 minutes to cool while you are doing dumplings. in measuring cup add 1/2 water and 1/2 flour this will be thick. set aside. in large bowl take flour and oil and mix with another 1 cup of water **** should look like thick wet sticky dough not dry in any way if to dry add alittle more water till you get the slick look. you will need 2 spoons one to scoop one to shave the other spoon in large pot where your chicken was scoop with one spoon shave that spoon into large pot. do this till you run out of dough. then the set aside mixture needs to be added to pot. stir til thickens. turn burner off completely from from heat. break chicken down to bite size pieces and add to pot. when done with chicken. stir again till all chicken is mixed with the dumplings. serve.****** warning this mixture is always super hot. the steam settles into the dumplings be careful especially with children.
