Sasha is now looking for her forever family! Unfortunately the potential adopter for her had a change in his family situation and can no longer adopt her. So this gorgeous girl is now available! She is truly an amazing dog. Despite her horrible past, she holds no grudges and loves everyone she meets! She definitely deserves the best home and to be spoiled rotten! She is already house trained, crate trained, walks well on a leash, is great with other dogs and kids and has already mastered several basic commands. She has already been spayed and is fully vetted (and Heartworm negative! yay!). She is around 30 pounds and is estimated to be around 10 months old. Please email us at BlueBelleRescue@gmail if you are interested in learning more about her! In case you missed it, here is her incredible story: Sasha was found in a field when we were on our feeding route and saw a group of men throwing rocks at her. We pulled over and threatened to call the police and they ran off. Sasha was unable to walk and was crying in fear as she tried to crawl away still. She quickly realized that we were there to help her and began wagging her tail and lay still. We pulled her off the streets and took her to the vet the next day. The X-rays revealed that she had a horribly broken left leg, most likely from being hit by a car, and we believed there was also nerve damage as she was non-responsive to the test. What was horrible was that the injury happened 3-4 weeks prior to us finding her and she had most likely lay in a ditch slowly starving as her muscles atrophied (see the picture from day 1 in the field). The vet recommended amputation as the best option for her, but opted to push it back to allow her to gain weight and have a better chance of recovery. After 2 weeks, she was beginning to use her leg and was no longer dragging it behind her. And after another 2 weeks she was fully using it and running and playing like a normal dog! The miraculous recovery of the nerve function in her leg has astounded us all and because of this, her leg no longer needed to be amputated! In addition, in the first 4 weeks that we had her, she gained 8 pounds (almost half her initial body weight!). It is truly amazing what time, rest, good groceries and love can do for a pup!
