Sat Nav Thefts - Grantham Car Crime Warning Police are urging people to remove sat navs and sat nav cradles from cars after a spate of nine thefts in the last three days in Grantham. The thefts have taken place in Park Road, Redcross Street. The Grove, Norton Street, Dexter Avenue, Harby Close, Dudley Road and Derwent Road in the town. Thieves seem to have targeted cars where sat nav cradles have left on display. They have broken in and stolen sat navs that have been stored elsewhere in the car, or other items like CDs. Police are urging people to remove their cradles, along with their sat navs when they leave their cars unattended as thieves will break in to see if the device has been stored in the glove compartment or elsewhere in the car. Most garages also sell solvent wipes to remove the sucker marks left by the cradles and it is a good idea to use them if possible.
