Sat Update/Outlook: If you are enjoying a break in the rainfall....dont worry! Rain, some heavy, will fill back in. This day looks DAMP for sure!!! We were all fortunate that the FZR occurred during the time of night that it did, and that it wasnt more of an issue. This Clipper for Tuesday LOOKS INTERESTING! Many times, Clippers can be starved for moisture, but with the cold air that ushers in the system, it can take .15 moisture and turn it into a 3 snowfall. Clippers are notorious for wobbling as they approach, making exact snowfall projections difficult...if not impossible. Some model data has the Tuesday Clipper producing around .25 of moisture. With normal snowfall to liquid ratios, that would be a 2-3 snowfall. HOWEVER....with the cold air in place, we can easily take that ratio to 18:1.....translating into a 4-5 POTENTIAL. I will watch this carefully. RIGHT NOW....the northern 2/3 of the state....roughly north of a Terre Haute to Bloomington to Metamora line....needs to especially stay updated. THIS WONT BE THE LARGEST SNOWFALL OF THE SEASON....but a real pain if it materializes! THE COLD AIR IS COMING!!!!!! I have been talking about this for a good while now. Yes....it was delayed in getting here.....but we will be looking at BRUTAL temps and WIND CHILLS ESPECIALLY BY WEDNESDAY. You will notice a sharp difference in air beginning tomorrow.
