Satan tempted Jesus three times (Matthew 4:1-10) and this is how He responded: 1. It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. (verse 4) 2. It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. (verse 7) 3. Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. (verse 10) Jesus never reasoned with the devil, He just put him in his place! So the next time Satan comes calling, just remember who you are in Christ Jesus. Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven. (Luke 10:19-20)
