Satan’s tactic is to plant seeds of suspicion regarding God’s - TopicsExpress

Satan’s tactic is to plant seeds of suspicion regarding God’s goodness and intent for our lives. He did it with Eve. He tries to do it with us today. When I received this second diagnosis of a faster, more aggressive cancer, the Lord showed me that the enemy wanted me to give up and say it was no use..that the previous six months of prayer and medicine had not worked. And indeed, everything seemed contrary to what we had received from God from the beginning. However, driving home from the specialists office in Dallas with the report that I had six months to live, we canceled the authority of his words and confessed the Scriptures God had given us, putting them back in ascendancy over man’s. We DID NOT change our original confessions based on the new developments! Later on, the Father gave me this Scripture in Jeremiah to add to my arsenal because He knew Satan was trying to get me to own the belief that God had failed me miserably: Why is my pain perpetual and my wound incurable, refusing to be healed? Will you indeed be to me like a deceitful brook, like waters that fail and are uncertain? Therefore thus says the Lord [to Jeremiah]: If you return [and give up this mistaken tone of distrust and despair], then I will give you again a settled place of quiet and safety, and you will be My minister; and if you separate the precious from the vile [cleansing your own heart from unworthy and unwarranted suspicions concerning God’s faithfulness], you shall be My mouthpiece… Jeremiah 15: 18,19 The two adjectives in the Amplified version that describe Jeremiah’s suspicions are interesting: “unworthy and unwarranted”. Look back at your life through the years. Is there any proof that God has in any way been unfaithful to you? Is there evidence of abandonment, betrayal, or cruelty? No. In fact, just the opposite. Circumstances at the time may have appeared suspicious, but down the road the integrity of God was always revealed. Who in some position of earthly authority has spoken words over you or your condition that run contrary to Gods? Cancel them in the name of Jesus, and place Gods affirming, life-producing words back in ascendency over those of well-intending, but fallen man. Just because the situation looks suspicious, as if God has failed us, we cannot, as we read in Romans 1:25 “exchange the truth of God for a lie” based on how we feel or what we perceive. We must dig down deep into our spirits for a clear assessment of our situation that will cause hope to rise up within us, not despair.
