Saturday - August 23rd - Ride Report: Roll Call: Sam, Terrell, Anthony, John, Mark, Vennie, Julian, and Brian. Todays destination was Belle Isle and maybe points beyond. We took Hamilton down to the stadiums and on to the island. We kept the group together until reaching the island where its every cyclist for himself. I was in the trailing group and spotted someone I thought I knew and peeled off to say hello. After doing that, I then ran into a group of cyclists fixing a flat and decided to take off with them for a challenge. They were riding much faster than I was but it was a good short workout. After regrouping at Tim Hortons, we headed to the Riverwalk and then to Woodward Avenue for the return home. Sam wanted to open up the pace and see what everyone could do speed wise, so he stuck on the back of the lead group all the way to Palmer Park. Anthony wanted to catch them and in doing so he kind of left his buddy behind. No problem though, because we had a sweeper who kept him company on the road and probably sold him some ballroom lessons on the way. No flats, falls, or mechanicals. It was a good day.
