Saturday 11 October Lions Park Woy Woy Hi my name is Ella, Bob Pigott’s granddaughter (I call him Pa). I’m 8 and have Cystic Fibrosis (CF), a chronic disease that effects the lungs and pancreas. My life span (whatever that is) was, up until a few months ago , 38 years. Thanks to a miracle drug Kalydeco, my life span has increased to 58 years. Kalydeco only works for my gene mutation, so a lot of other kids aren’t getting stronger like me. Pa says I’m lucky. Pa also says that the harder you work the luckier you get. Pa says a lot of things. Because I’m stronger now I’m doing a lot of fundraising for CF and I will be walking 10 kilometres with Pa in the Take a Step for CF Walkathon at Woy Woy on Saturday 11 October 2014. The money raised will be going to the Cystic Fibrosis Clinic at Westmead Children’s Hospital who continue to help out the other CF kids who aren’t as lucky as me.
