Saturday 12th July 2014 YEAR - MISS. GUYANA UNIVERSE IN YEAR 1991. When Ms.Ann Marie Ragubeer-van den Dobbelsteen went up as MISS.TEMPTATIONS, A CLOTHING STORE HAD SPONSOR HER. I DID NOT GET THE CROWN IN 1991 BUT I GOT FIFTH PLACE.On the night going out on the stage i remember i stumble my right foot on the electrical wire, because i was looking at the crowd of people in front of me, but not the ground stage i was walking, i did not fall, i think i turned and went back behind curtains, then i came back out, i had to pull my breathe]. I remember when Miss.Guyana Universe advertised in the newspapers for contestants, i signed up and when i told my friend that i was going up for Miss.Universe, i was promptly told with a giggling laughter hahaha you will not make it, I HAD A SPLURGE OF ANGER ON MY STOMACH THEN THAT MY FRIENDS WERE EITHER JEALOUS OF ME OR SIMPLY DID NOT WANT ME TO SUCCEED IN LIFE, BUT I WAS VERY HIGH SPIRITED AND DETERMINED THAT NO ONE WAS GOING TO GET IN MY WAY - AND SO I WENT UP FOR MISS. GUYANA UNIVERSE IN 1991.My.Cousin in Diamond had went up the year before me. [I was not confused, i was very Brave and liberated girl, but it was a new feelings for me, and i did not had stage fright]. I HAD VERY NICE FRIENDS BUT ALSO SOME VERY JEALOUS FRIENDS. I was reading about Miss. GUYANA UNIVERSE and i was trying to remember what was my Sponsor name when i went up for Miss.Guyana Universe in YEAR 1991. I WENT UP AS MISS.TEMPTATIONS, Actually the title makes me smile and laugh now, i really never give much thought to the title before. In Biki Suits and Sari Training. We trained at Wee Place Disco [which later not only a Disco but turned into a Lap-Dancing Club].
