Saturday, August 16 2014 Result: Shared Account - 4th Dansili x Imbabala / Brown Filly 8/5/10 Form: 1633-94 Pascal Bary / Christophe Soumillon 2:40 - Deauville - Prix de Pomone (Group 2) - ext.12f This was much more like it from Shared Account this afternoon and the four-year-old filly was rather unlucky not to have finished third and secured some valuable Group 2 black-type. The sister to Zambezi Sun was always in the contest, unlike in her reappearance, but having tracked the leaders into the straight she quickly found herself outpaced before rallying under pressure inside the final 150yrds only to fail by a head to get up for third; the way she stayed on suggests that a stronger run race would suit her better, but one thing is for sure she is certainly capable of winning at a similar level; the Prix de Royallieu looks an obvious target. Result: Full Mast - 1st Mizzen Mast x Yashmak / Dark Bay Colt 9/5/12 Form: 1 Criquette Head-Maarek / Thierry Thulliez 11:30 - Deauville - Maiden - ext.6f Full Mast made a winning debut on the all weather at Deauville earlier this morning and looks a colt with plenty of potential. He was green throughout, running around on the outside of the leading pair for the first half of the race before looking full of running at the top of the home run; he easily found his way to the front and despite hanging over to the rail inside the final furlong he was always doing enough without Thulliez having to get too serious with him; he looks useful and he does hold a Group 1 entry, but perhaps more experience is needed first. Result: Tendu - 7th Oasis Dream x Arabesque / Bay Filly 25/1/12 Form: 7 John Gosden / James Doyle 1:00 - Newbury - Maiden - 6f This wasnt a bad effort from Tendu on her debut in a maiden that has the scope to work out well. the daughter of Oasis Dream wasnt the quickest away from the gates and as a result James Doyle settled her behind most of her rivals early on; she threatened to get involved at halfway having made up a bit of ground but she quickly got tired and Doyle simply accepted the situation; shell improve from this experience. Result: Idea - 10th Mizzen Mast x Discuss / Grey Colt 14/3/11 Form: U1-91000 Sir Michael Stoute / Royston Ffrench 3:10 - Chester - Handicap C2 - ext.7f The draw was always going to play apart, thats just the way of it at Chester, and it certainly didnt help Idea this afternoon. You dont have many options from stall eleven and having settled in rear early on it soon became clear that Idea wasnt going to play a hand in the finish; he was being ridden after halfway but he could only finish in front of two rivals in the end; you can forgive this effort, with circumstances against him, but he does have questions to answer.
