Saturday, December 27: Today we went to Dallas to see some of our family. We met at a place called “Art’s a Blast” in Rockwall and we painted as a group. It was really fun. I loved watching Dane really work at the details of his painting. He stayed focused on it a lot longer than his dad or his brother! “Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands.” 2 Timothy 1:6 Jenny bought Christmas cookies and we made lots of memories. We ate lunch overlooking Lake Ray Hubbard and we enjoyed the precious company of family. To see the gifts that God had given Dane like painting/drawing, just edified the amazing work the Lord continues to do in Dane. Marmie and Poppy (my parents) gave Dane a boxing speed bag to help him with his hand to eye coordination. Dane is so excited, he can’t wait to use it! It is a blessing to have a family who has been so supportive of Dane and his recovery to find such thoughtful gifts. He was really tired when we got home, so we got to bed early and I just love to listen to him pray – he remembers and thinks of others so well when he prays. Every Saturday Dane will pray for our Sunday Service – he always prays for our Pastor, Bro. Mike and the Music minister, Ken Lasater. He prays for family, his brother, his own recovery, those who have prayed for him. Precious to me. I than the Lord that Dane is sensitive to the needs of others. Such a blessing as a parent. So tonight I am thankful for family, memories, paint parties, and prayer, What a gift – prayer – the opportunity to talk to the Creator of the Universe. What a privilege, what a blessing – free and available to all. “LORD, the God of Israel, there is no God like you in heaven above or on earth below--you who keep your covenant of love with your servants who continue wholeheartedly in your way.” 1 Kings 8:23 Glory to God……Sunday’s coming……..
