Saturday Film: "Bloody Sunday" (2002) The drama shows the events of "Bloody Sunday" (30 January 1972) which took place in the Bogside area of Derry, Northern Ireland, in which 26 unarmed civil-rights protesters and bystanders were shot, killing thirteen instantly and wounding another person who died 4½ months later, by soldiers of the First Battalion, The Parachute Regiment ("1 PARA") of British Army. (The British equivalent of the 101st or 82nd Airborne Division) The film is seen through the eyes of Ivan Cooper, who was a Protestant member of the non-sectarian Social Democratic and Labour Party (SDLP) and a Member of the Parliament (MP) for Londonderry, who was a central organiser of the Northern Ireland Civil Rights Association. https://youtube/watch?v=7BrOT217Byg
