Saturday Full Schedule of Halloween Activities * Nitro Elementary Fall Carnival 10Am to 2PM-Lots of fun and games for the kids. *Nitro Moose Halloween Party 1PM to 3PM * Monster Run-Line up for this 5K Run is 12:00 Noon at 21st Street and 2nd Avenue. Participate in this event by running or watching as monsters such as Freddy Kruger, Michael Myers, Jason, Frankenstein, Werewolf, Zombies and others chase runners through the streets of Nitro. You can register for this event the day of the race or online at TheHauntedBarn.us *Pig Roast at the corner of 21st street and 2nd avenue from 12 noon until 3:30PM. Plan on enjoying lunch as two tasty pigs will be roasted by Ridge View BBQ and fixins will be provided by the Nitro Show Choir. Proceeds from this event will go to support the Nitro Show Choir. We appreciate the donation of an extra pig from Ridge View BBQ. * The classic rock band Crimson Conspiracy (dressed in their best Halloween outfits) will perform on the corner of 21st street and 2nd avenue from 12 Noon until 3:30 PM. *Monster Walk Parade-Kids of all ages are encouraged to line up on 21st street near the post office at 4PM and join with many ghosts and goblins as they parade down 21st street and over to the City Park. It has been rumored that the Headless Horseman from Sleepy Hollow will be there to lead the parade. *Halloween Hoedown-Will be at the City Park soccer field and begin immediately after the parade. There will be a costume contest by age groups with cash prizes. The wolf will be providing a live radio remote. A DJ will be there to entertain the crowd. Nathan from Town N Country Supply store will be giving hayrides. Bill Javins and other City council members along with volunteers will be serving hotdogs, chips and drinks free of charge to all. Games will be available for kids. And of course, lots of candy will be provided to trick-or-treaters by local businesses and police officers.
