Saturday I suppressed my introvert-self, took my sign and Guy - TopicsExpress

Saturday I suppressed my introvert-self, took my sign and Guy Fawkes mask out beside the busiest street in my city, Chattanooga, and gave a few thousand people a reason to turn their heads and go What the heck? My sign read Love is God. I received honks, waves, smiles from children pressed up against the car windows, and I suspect a few elderly folks were frightened I would be robbing a liquor store soon (because of the mask). It was a very powerful event in my life for many reasons. First, it was terrifying. I can still see them looking at me. But it helped me realize the task at hand, that is... changing the world... is going to always be quite uncomfortable. Second, this was such a small act... performed on a whim by one person... yet I undoubtedly affected countless souls due to the highly social nature of humans these days. Many people snapped photos of me with their phones. Who knows who many Facebook friends of theirs indirectly found themselves in the middle of this event. When you think about it, just making those kids and college students and middle-aged and elderly people smile... I mean... thats something, I think. Well, guess what. Im going to do it again in two weeks, Saturday, Dec 28th, around Noon EST. But this time, youre invited. If youre in Chattanooga, Ill be on Gunbarrel Rd. You wont miss me. But obviously most of you will be in your own cities. Find a high-traffic area, bring a sign with an encouraging message (preferably with weoccupyjesus.org written at the bottom), and if you have a Guy Fawkes mask, that would just be great. We call it Wojian Panhandling, but of course were not asking for money. Were asking for change. Please RSVP and share this invite with your friends. Lets get to work. #weoccupyjesus
