Saturday, June 1, 2013 from 10am - 12pm participate in the SANTA CRUZ RIVER CLEANUP at Leinbrandt and 3rd Avenue. Summer is almost here! Join Save Our Shores to kickoff the beach season at our community cleanup of the San Lorenzo River downtown. YOU can help prevent thousands of pounds of pollution from entering the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary. Get ready to get your hands dirty and have a ton of fun! Check-in will be located at the intersection of Leibrandt and 3rd Ave on the beach hill side of the river. The cleanup will take place between the rivermouth and Riverside Ave. Bridge. We will be cleaning from the Riverside Ave. Bridge down to the rivermouth. SOS will provide all cleanup materials including buckets, bags, grabbers and gloves. We encourage you to bring your own bucket and/or gloves to help us reduce trash created by this event. All ages are welcome and smaller children can work up along the levee bike path. All participants must sign a waiver form and we will need a parent signature on waivers for those under 18. We look forward to seeing you out there!
