Saturday June 15 - June Bloom Hike at Henry W. coe State Park. 6:45 - 8:30pm. All ages, ends in the dark. Have you ever seen a Wavy Leaf Soap Plant bloom before? Come and see the delicate blossoms of this night blooming plant. You will meet in the Hunting Hollow parking lot and start the hike at 6:45 PM sharp for a journey up the new Jim Donnelly Trail where many Soap Plants exist. If you are not there on time you will have to catch up to the group at the base of the Jim Donnelly Trail. Since the sun will go down quickly the group must get started on time. Wear shoes suitable for hiking up the trail and bring a sweater or jacket as the sun will soon disappear. Please bring your own water and a flashlight just in case it gets too dark. This hike is suitable for all family members capable of hiking up the hill and back. The Wavy Leaf Soap Plant usually starts blooming in mid June but it all depends on the weather. This hike will take place on the first Saturday evening after the blooms start appearing.
