Saturday May 10, 2014 The Northampton Township Police Department is investigating a bear sighting, reported on Saturday May 10th, 2014 around midnight on Birch Avenue. The homeowner reports seeing the bear in the area of his trash cans two separate times. Officers responding to the call observed trash scattered throughout the back yard and large indentations in the grass. The area where the bear was sighted backs up to the Richboro Elementary School in Richboro. This is the second reported bear sighting in Bucks County in the past two days. The first occurred on Friday morning in Newtown Township near Saint Andrews School. Residents are reminded not to approach any bear and to report any sighting to police by calling 9-1-1.
