Saturday October 4, 2014 Exodus 20:12 (NIV) Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you. God gives us this commandment at the center of the ten commandments to emphasize how important our connections to family and community are to our wellbeing as people of integrity and faith. When we honor our parents we show respect for our heritage as Gods people and show that we value the story of their lives and the wisdom they have to impart to us. When we listen to another person we build relationship with them and God! How do you honor your father and mother?
