Saturday evening... Now today was not exactly like I had planned it, but I learned a valuable lesson...maybe two. First we never went to a yard sale, but ended up in St. Marys, WV (where lived two different times!) and visited with friends at a golf tournament for Ohio Valley University. We laughed and had a great time! Bought a beautiful homemade apple pie and then gave it away! On the way home we stopped at Mickey Ds for an iced tea and the truck would not start. Deader than a mackerel! (What ever that means!) Called good friend, Chuck Johnson, and he came with tool box in hand to replace the battery. Now, here is when I knew I was ...back home in West Virginia! No less than eight people stopped by to offer whatever help they could. Eight! One young man tried to jump start it without success and others offered rides, comfort, etc. Eight! That sure beats watching people buzz by without as much as a smile! Now as for the pie? I hope Chuck and his family enjoy every bite of it! Yep, thats West Virginia and West Virginians for you! It is good to be HOME!
