Saturday morning at around 5:50 A.M., there was a pounding at the door. This startled a sleeping Mrs Garrett, who then shook me awake. A quick check of the security/entertainment camera revealed a staggering man with a bicylce..... Standing behind Mrs Garrett, and holding a rolling pin ( that visual is important ), I yell through the door What do you want? The staggering man, replies with a barely audible string of slurred names that he believes may live here...... I reply that no such people live at this address, and he needs to take his drunk a$$ home! The staggering man then attempts disengage the kickstand on his legal chariot, but falls on his behind.....a chill overcomes me as I imagine him passed out on my front porch unable to regain mobility...... Luckily he was able to stand up, and push his bike across the lawn in route to the neighbors ( sorry neighbors, I should have added and dont kock on anyone elses door around here!!! ). Mrs Garrett and I watched the security feed as the next few houses front porch lights told the same story........two doors down is the neighboor hood watch block captian. Most folks in this hood have lived here for at least 30 years. Our house was ownd by a family that owned three other houses on this end of the street ( dude kept his children close ). There are also other folks that have elderly parents living in houses next door and the like ( must be cheap prices as my mother almost purchased a house across the street from us as an investment ). I figure the dude must have had a buddy that lived in one of these houses years ago and hoped to pass out on his sofa. I went back to sleep, but Mrs Garrett remained on guard for awhile before the roosters souned wake up time.
