Saturday night I preached in a great service in Tumeremo. God - TopicsExpress

Saturday night I preached in a great service in Tumeremo. God blessed the service. I was tired but felt ok. At 9:00pm sat down for dinner. Started sweating profusely. Thought I would get up and walk. Felt weak, so sat down. It got much worse. Nurse present, sister of the pastor. She took my BP. 60/40! Immediately gave me an IV of saline, some meds and called a doctor. I started to pass out, but the saline must have rescued me. A bed was brought and I was finally able to lie down. Doctor came and ambulance. Three nurses were present the whole time caring for me. Finally started feeling better after 3 bags of saline and some meds from the doctor. Was able to go inside about 1am. slept all night. Fine now. Diagnoses: dehydration and fatigue. Both completely preventable! My fault. I am ashamed to admit this is the 3rd time in 15 years I have gotten dehydrated in Venezuela. I am hardheaded! Slow learner. Arrogant. But this was the worst time because of the absolute fatigue. Have been running wide open for weeks. Careless with Sabbath rest. Careless limiting the number of hours work each day. Careless. 62 is not 22. I need to tattoo that on my forehead so I will be reminded when I look in the mirror. Grateful for the great care given to me by the good Methodists in Tumeremo, Chris Cisneros, and a doctor who looked 15 years old. Grateful to God. Prescription: 1. Rest. 2. Force liquids. 3. Dont be Stupid. The first two, no problem. The third may continue to cause difficulties.
