Saturday out of town ride Oakdale to Knights Ferry Loop This ride from Oakdale, around Woodward Reservoir to Knight’s Ferry and back along Orange Blossom And Rodden Roads is popular with local riders. With everything green right now, it is a gorgeous ride. No really big climbs—mostly rollers on Sonora Road, which may become one of your favorites! Knight’s Ferry is a treat for those who have never seen the longest covered bridge west of the Mississippi. When we return we will go up Cemetery Road, a steep, but mercifully short climb. At the top, with luck we will see the camel and the zonkey who live there. And we will pass a castle on the way back! Meet: Church parking lot on Valley Home Take Hwy 120 from Manteca to Oakdale. Make a right on River Road (if you cross a river you went too far) and turn into the first driveway on your right. The church doesn’t mind us parking there if we park close to that driveway, away from the church. Time: 9:00 a.m. Budget 4 hours for riding, rest stops, and photos. Distance: 40 miles Pace: 14-16 mph overall avg, however faster and slower riders are welcome to come along and ride at their own pace (if they know the route). Terrain: A lot of of easy rollers. No major climbs. MapmyRide says 1000 feet—it’s more like 1200-1500. Ride leader: Ray Prevost As always wear your helmet and bring a taillight if you have one for safety
