Saturday we stopped at Old News in Millington to do some shopping. The place has an ever changing stock of old newspapers, postcards, photographs, and ephemera, so we let to check out the inventory. Kevin Hemstock, the proprietor, also has an interesting series about the communitys past. In the series he has examined a number of local history topics, so yesterday we picked up Millington: A Small Town Defined by Fire. After a devastating blaze swept through the town, the community rose above the ashes to rebuild. While we were there Kevin also had a donation waiting for the Historical Society of Cecil County. He had acquired two volumes of 1830s records from Nowlands Store in Cecilton, and was donating them to the Historical Society. Thanks Kevin.
