Saturdays forecast - Wind, Rain, Snow and Risk of thunderstorms. A brief lull in the weather today. This is risk of some thunderstorms tomorrow the greatest risk being in the afternoon and early evening please share any reports with this page thank you. Its a fairly dry end to the day across the Western Isles tonight some rain around and winds are increasing at the moment. Temperatures are close to double figures in places but this will change soon. We will see some rain push across the Western Isles for the rest of this evening and overnight into Saturday the rain will turn increasingly heavy and intense. As the night goes on and into the early hours of tomorrow morning the rain will turn increasingly wintry and we could see some snow at times. Could be heavy at times across higher ground. It will be mostly rain for the Southern Half of the Western Isles. Saturday morning will be a mixture of rain and wintry showers. There is a chance of covering of snow at times. But the winds are expected to push any snow showers away fairly quickly. The cloud is forecast to dominate for the Northern Half of the Western Isles but we should see some decent sunny spells across the Southern Half. Into the afternoon again and it will be more the same wintry showers some heavy at times risk of thunder and lightning mixed in. In places it will as just rainfall. Some sunny spells but the cloud is forecast to dominate once again. Into the evening and we should start to see some drier spells and few breaks in the cloud for a time. However there will be wintry showers around. Again some of it just falling as rain. Winds will be from a Westerly direction tomorrow a bitterly cold Westerly direction. Winds will be around 30 to 40 mph gusting 50 to 60 mph and and possibly 70 mph. These strong wind speeds are likely all day. Temperatures will range from 10C to 0C but will feel more like -5C or -6C in the wind chill. Stornoway - 09:06 and 15:59 South Uist - 09:02 and 16:10
