Sauced! BBQ 2014 Year in Review 2014 was a banner year for Sauced! BBQ. We had our best year ever since starting in 2009. We started off with a bang with a top 10 in our first event and winning the 2nd event of the year in Kings Mountain while joining the 700 Club. In the end we did a ridiculous 28 contests with 3 weeks off from April through November. We competed in 8 states from Virginia to Florida to Mississippi to Kentucky and states in between. We didnt start out looking to do 28 contests, it just sort of happened..... Thanks to my wonderful wife for putting up with being on the road every weekend, even those weekends when she couldnt make it and stayed home with the kids while I was running the roads solo. It was a long, tiring year, but it was worth it. In 28 contests we had some awesome results -Finished 7th in Chicken, 10th in Ribs, 46th in Pork, 55th in Brisket and 52nd Overall in the KCBS Team of the Year standings -2 Grand Championships -2 Reserve Grand Championships -11 1st place category calls -180 in Chicken, 4 in Dessert -700 Club -19 Top 10 Overall finishes -63 top 10 calls -Sams Club National BBQ Tour Regional Finalist -American Royal Qualifier for 2014 and 2015 -Jack Daniels draw for 2014 and 2015 -Runner up in the 2014 Old North State Series We added two great sponsors to our team, Frontier Charcoal and The Atlanta BBQ Store. We want to thank them for all their support this year!!! We covered over 5000 miles while meeting a ton of new friends, competing in some great contests for the first time all while enjoying great times with all the friends weve met over the years.
