Saudi Arabia is set to begin construction of what will become the worlds tower with a price tag of 1.2 billion dollars. While the gap between the rich and the poor widens, the income distribution inequality hits record high levels, and large segments of the population starves and is vulnerable to health complications because of inadequate housing, the government wishes to build the worlds tallest tower. It would have made sense if they were catering to the needs of their citizens (and also of those people they alienate and socially abuse) and then they decide to engage is such massive projects.
