Savannah... Today in my gym class was Mile Run day. In my gym class there is this boy. Im not gonna say his name so lets just call him Boy. So Boy is a special education kid and his disability caused him to not be very good at running. The mile we had to run was only a partner mile which means you run lap then your partner runs one so on so on until you finish the mile. I finished my mile with my partner after about 13 minutes giving us a 6:30 minute mile. After I finished I was walking around a bit I went over to Boys shadow and found out he still had 4 laps to go because he was fast walking them more than running them. So these guys in my gym class (8th graders who I have know for years) started sayin,Oooo, Boy still has 4 laps he is so slow!! So after tellin them to back off I find where Boy is and I start to run with him. All the kids in my gym class watch in awe as I run 3 extra laps with him. So after running 1 and a quarter miles my gym teacher said,Okay kids go change out! So we all change out and we are waiting for the bell to ring and Boys shadow comes up to me and says,Savannah, come here real fast. So I walk over to he and she brings out her character cards and before she can sign it I say,Mrs.Shadow I cant accept this I didnt do anything to get one. (Character cards are what you get at my school for helping or being really nice.) So since I wouldnt accept it the shadow was getting impatient and had to take Boy to his next class. So my 6th class hour comes around and I open my locker and a couple papers are in my backpack that werent there earlier. After shuffling the papers I realize that its a character card and a note. The note reads,Savannah, thank you so much for so encouraging in gym and helping Boy. Please accept the character card. So after a while I see Boy again and I high five him and congratulate him on his mile time and the counselor of our school comes up to me and tells me about how all these kids from my gym class are tellin her about what I did and she tells me about it and Im just in awe about how many people took notice to it. So as you can see even the quiet kids can make a change in school. So if you see someone bein bullied stick up for them or report it. Please dont just be a bystander, stand up and speak out! My name is Savannah and I #OpposeBullying
