Save A Life with Hands Only CPR: Do-It-Yourself Training Kits Available The ability to save a life is in your hands. Hands Only Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is a new technique that is so easy, almost anyone can do it. The Vancouver Fire Department (VFD) is making it even easier for people to learn this lifesaving skill by offering free do-it-yourself Hands Only CPR Kits to the public. The best part of this new technique is there is no need for mouth to mouth resuscitation - one of the primary reasons people dont learn or perform CPR. VFDs new Hands Only CPR Kits are available to be checked out by groups such as neighborhood associations, businesses, church groups and families. Learning Hands Only CPR is safe and easy and many organizations support self- teaching. Each training kit contains an instructional video produced by the City, two mannequins for practice and answers to frequently asked questions. Once the kit is checked out, an individual or group simply watches the video and practices the techniques demonstrated on the mannequins. There is no cost and no certification required.
