Heres some info that I found useful: NOTE: In response to Borghesis attempts to get you to fear a residential development (one step at a time!), keep these facts in mind: 1) One of our main goals is to protect the mountainous ridge on Rte 44 (this also buffers the river). Borghesi has never done a residential development, and he would have a lot of trouble getting permission to level the ridge to build houses and then selling them. Ridge-leveling would uglify the area to prospective house hunters and put buyers right on Rte 44--not ideal--several nice houses in the area have been unable to sell in better conditions 2) With an industrial development, ridge tearing down is confirmed and likely allowed. We have no idea what type of businesses will be going in now or in 10 years (he has confirmed the bus depot and one other out of 6). Businesses come and go! 3) In the beginning of the year Borghesi said a residential development was impossible on this lot--then he was threatening us by saying he was going to build 80 houses--then another developer called him out on the illegal nature of his plan (aka scare tactic), and now he says he is doing us a favor by offering to put 26 houses there even though he has been told he can build more. There is no connection to any town sewer there, there are wetlands, there is a gorgeous mountainous ridge buffering the river from 44....we believe that this is talk, talk, and more talk. Dont be swayed by truth bending! Hes not in this for our town, for our quality of life, or for our environment. He is in it for the $$$.
